Open Settings gear → Sound Bank. CONFIG references the bank but does not embed or install it.
Do I need a sound bank?
The installer does not include a standalone sample bank. Light Bank and Stable Bank are third-party banks. Use a compatible bank downloaded separately, your own supported SF2 sounds, or a compatible external MIDI instrument. Available downloads are shown in your account. A style contains musical instructions, not the instrument samples. Voice coverage and effects affect the result.
Missing sounds and optional GM bank
GENERAL MIDI / BASIC is an optional separately installed GM/GS source. It is different from the built-in missing-sound replacements used with compatible local banks. Its instruments and processing can differ from a sampled bank.
Your own SF2 and WAV sounds
Load supported SF2 sounds or add a WAV as a playable instrument. A WAV can be an existing recording or a new sample captured from an audio input. These are ways to create individual sounds, not automatic conversion of a whole synthesizer into a bank.
Load an existing WAV
Open REC SAMPLE and choose Open WAV to import an existing supported WAV. Set the root note to match its pitch, adjust the start, end and fades as needed, then use Add voice. Save edited audio with Save WAV as before adding it. Keep the WAV available at its saved location when recalling the configuration.
Record a new WAV sample
Connect a microphone or the external instrument's audio output to an appropriate audio-interface input. Select and check that input in the MIC settings, then open REC SAMPLE and press Record. Stop earlier or let capture stop at 20 seconds. Set the root note, save the WAV and use Add voice. Audio-input recording requires the full licence. MIDI alone does not carry the sound to record. REC WAV records the final performance mix instead of creating a short instrument sample.
The full licence unlocks SAVE STYLE, REC MIDI, REC WAV and microphone recording in REC SAMPLE. These functions are unavailable in the demo. Open WAV imports an existing supported audio file and is separate from microphone recording.
No Bank / External MIDI
Choose No Bank / External MIDI in Settings > Sound Bank to use an external instrument's sounds without loading local samples. Select its MIDI output in Settings > MIDI and check receiving channels and supported voices. This mode does not itself produce local bank audio. Loading a local bank restores local bank playback.
